My wife didn’t get the bonus she thought she was going to get. You guessed it, she doesn’t work for AIG, nor does she fit Obama’s demographic favorites, really rich or really poor. Had to return the Kindle, didn’t even take it out of the box…Maybe things will change in four years and Obama will promise us all a Kindle if we vote for him!!!

I love my Kindle, so i got the extended warranty for it. I took the Kindle on vacation and was able to get the USA Today every week day to read, it was great.

I got the product really, really, really F-A-S-T. It arrived intact and the shipment container was pristine – and not all banged up or purloined in transit. It would have been nice to get a used one for less money. It was a gift for my husband – and he says that he enjoys it, too, though he doesn’t use it every day like he does the other products that were purchased. I sorely regret not having it gift wrapped for him. I am such a spectacularly terrible wife….

fantastic product, especially for those of us that travel and usually carry around 3-5 books. a few issues but minor. Would be great if they had an accessory that was like a kickstand or something to rest the book on. It seems abit top heavy and my wrists start hurting abit and I have hunt around for something to prop it up on. Other issue is that the “buy now” button is the default so it’s easy to slip and hit it and you’ve bought a book without meaning to, only to have to go back and unbuy it. Have also found that when I close the book down and then start the book back up it doesn’t always pick up where you left off as promised so I have to spend alot of time finding out where I left off. Other issue is that the samples are usually not long enough and can include prologs or table of content and that doesn’t give you enough of a sample of the book itself. Nice too if the books were between 7-9$ since everyone so far has been $9.99 so the savings isn’t huge..
regardless, love it and best toy I’ve ever purchased.

I have now owned the Kindle2 for a week and have downloaded and read three novels in that time. Each download took less than 30 seconds and the ease in searching for titles in the Kindle Store was wonderful. I am particularly thrilled with the ability to change text sizes, this giving my eyes considerable comfort and the flexibility to change the size depending on my mood, my eye strain, etc. I also like the fact that the Kindle2 recognizes where I’ve left off in my reading and that it delivers me back to that precise spot with absolutely no problem whatsoever. The page turn controls are very convenient and the readability of the screen itself is remarkable in any kind of light. I also like the “feel” of the Kindle2. The dictionary, too, is a very helpful element and it is easy to use, much more so than reaching for my hardbound dictionary. I do like the navigation button. It’s rigidity requires a deliberate touch, and that, I understand, is a big improvement over the original Kindle. Finally, I have been reading about 2 or 3 hours every day and the first charged battery is sitting at 1/2. THAT is amazing…A small point: I wish there was a date and time display somewhere on the screen and, perhaps, an alarm that could be set. Other than that, I am thrilled with my purchase and look forward to much more reading ahead.
